Note Neko ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
We store the diary entries you write, including text content, dates, and any locations you associate with entries.
When you submit a diary entry, our AI processes the text to automatically extract mentions of people and places. This extracted data (names, locations, relationships) is stored in your account.
If you enable browser location or set a default location, we store geographic coordinates to associate with your diary entries. Location data is used solely for your personal diary records.
We use the following third-party services to provide our functionality:
Your diary entry text is sent to AI language models via OpenRouter to extract people and places mentioned in your entries. We do not send your email, password, or any other account information. OpenRouter's processing is subject to their privacy policy.
When you search for locations, your search queries are sent to Google Maps API for geocoding. No diary content or personal information is shared with Google.
We use Sentry to track application errors and improve reliability. Error reports may contain technical information about your browser and session but do not include diary content.
Our application is hosted on Vercel. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to monitor performance. These tools collect anonymous usage data and do not track individual users.
We want to be explicit: your diary entries, personal information, and any data you provide to Note Neko are never used to train AI models. Your data is processed solely to provide you with the service features you use.
You own all the content you create in Note Neko. Your diary entries, people profiles, and location data belong to you. We plan to provide a data export feature so you can download all your data at any time.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including secure password hashing, HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, and database-level encryption at rest. Access to production databases is strictly limited.
We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems.
Note Neko is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of any material changes via email or an in-app notification.
